We had a wonderful morning, with beautiful weather and a great turn-out, at the 3rd annual Fort Hamer Bridge Run , on Saturday, August 24, 2019. As Parrish residence, we are proud to be part of this growing community. Thank you all agents to participate in this event.
Fort Hamer Bridge Run is an annual event sponsored by Parrish YMCA, Manatee County Youth Rowing, and The Parrish Foundation.
This healthy, family-oriented event features a 5k (3.1 miles), 10K, 5K Walk, and Kids’ Races. This year the 5k and 10K runners are being treated to a route that traverses over the 4,544 foot Fort Hamer Bridge then into the Waterlefe subdivision to their signature circle, and then back over the bridge. The 5k finishes at the Fort Hamer County Park. The 10k continues into the River Wilderness Subdivision then back to the Park where both the 5k and 10k finisher will receive a commemorative medal fashioned by the providers to the Boston Marathon. The 5K Walkers have the option to proceed over the bridge and back.
Race Festivities include: A sensational after party that features food samplings from eleven plus area restaurants as well as adult beverages with proper ID is open to all registrants. Friends and family members can purchase a food band to enjoy the offerings. Sponsors and vendors will have booths with give- aways and information on their products.
